NCWS Calls on Women to Prioritize Mental and Physical Well-being as the World Marks Mental Health Day 2025

As the world commemorates World Mental Health Day 2025, the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria joins voices across the globe in advocating for the recognition of mental health as a universal human right.

The NCWS emphasises that every woman deserves access to quality mental and physical healthcare, free from stigma or discrimination. The Council urges women across Nigeria to be conscious of their mental well-being, take timfor self-care, and seek professional help whenever necessary.

Women are the foundation of families and communities. To continue playing this vital role effectively, they must pay attention not only to their physical health but also to their emotional and psychological wellness. The NCWS encourages women to go for regular medical checkups, adopt healthy lifestyles, and create supportive environments that promote peace of mind and happiness.

The Council reaffirms its unwavering commitment to advancing the health, empowerment, and rights of women across Nigeria. Mental health is indeed a universal human right and every woman deserves the opportunity to live a balanced, fulfilled, and healthy life.

The theme for this year is “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right”
