NCWS, ICPC Partner with CEEO Nigeria to Raise Hope for Nigerian Children’s Education
The Centre for Educational Empowerment and Orientation (CEEO Nigeria) on Saturday, October 11, 2025, held a fundraising campaign titled “Raising the Hope of the Nigerian Child for Education in the North Central” at Merit House, Maitama, Abuja.
The campaign aims to raise ₦50 million to produce and distribute 10,000 instructional materials to 10,000 early-year pupils in 150 schools across the North Central region of Nigeria.
In her goodwill message, the National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, Princess Edna D. D. Azura, commended the initiative as timely and visionary, noting that it directly addresses the learning poverty confronting Nigerian children. She expressed NCWS’s readiness to partner with CEEO Nigeria and requested the submission of a formal proposal for collaboration and funding support.
Also in attendance was Mr. Godwin Basheru (Chief Supt) who represented the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). In his remarks, he elaborated on the Commission’s mandate to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in public and private institutions. He noted that these values align closely with CEEO Nigeria’s vision of promoting ethics and values while discouraging malpractices in schools. Mr. Godwin further emphasized that education remains a vital platform for nurturing integrity and national development.
Although attendance was modest with a few dedicated partner schools and their pupils participating the event rekindled optimism and reaffirmed the collective commitment of stakeholders to advance access to quality education for every child.
In his remarks, the Executive Director of CEEO Nigeria, Davidcrown Oyebisi, reaffirmed the organization’s unwavering mission to ensure that no child is left behind in accessing quality learning resources. He expressed confidence that, with the renewed support from institutional partners and forthcoming donor engagements, the ₦50 million target will be achieved.
A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the “Hope Document”, which outlines CEEO Nigeria’s strategic plan for educational material production and distribution across North Central states.
