NCWS NATIONAL PRESIDENT, PRINCESS EDNA AZURA, LEADS DELEGATION TO LEADERSHIP 365 CONFERENCE IN ABUJA UNDER THE CALL OF THE UN WOMEN

The National President of the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, Princess Edna D.D. Azura (Kwatam Mutaku), led a high-level delegation of national officers and affiliate members to the prestigious Leadership 365 Conference held on May 2, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel. The participation of NCWS at this landmark gathering demonstrated the Council’s strong commitment to leadership excellence, strategic engagement, and institutional growth. Princess Azura, widely recognized for her advocacy in gender equity and social justice, joined other leaders and stakeholders in exploring innovative approaches to communication, influence, and networking as critical tools for national development.

A key takeaway from the conference was the emphasis on Strategic Communication as a vital instrument for leadership effectiveness. The sessions highlighted the distinction between merely sharing information and intentionally influencing decisions and outcomes. This insight is particularly significant for NCWS Nigeria as the umbrella body of women’s organizations in the country, tasked with advocating for policies and programs that advance the welfare of women. The training reinforced that communication is not passive but a dynamic force that drives strategy, shapes perception, and strengthens advocacy impact across diverse stakeholders.

The delegation also engaged deeply with globally recognized frameworks such as the Pyramid Principle and Aristotle’s Triad of Persuasion—Ethos, Logos, and Pathos—which emphasized clarity, credibility, and emotional connection in leadership communication. These principles strongly align with the leadership style of Princess Azura, whose approach reflects credibility, logic, and empathy in advancing women’s rights. Her track record of addressing critical gender issues with firmness and dignity underscores the importance of persuasion rooted in character and evidence. Additionally, the conference highlighted strategic networking as an essential leadership competency, stressing the need for intentional relationship-building to unlock opportunities and strengthen institutional influence.

Princess Edna Azura’s participation, alongside her delegation, reinforces her commitment to capacity building and the advancement of the NCWS “Renewed Hope” agenda for women across Nigeria. With her strong grassroots background and visionary leadership, she continues to position the Council as a unified and influential platform for women’s empowerment. The conference concluded with a call for leaders to translate knowledge into action by strengthening presence, building character, and leveraging opportunities within their communities. For NCWS Nigeria, the experience marks another step toward becoming a more strategic, results-driven organization capable of shaping policies, influencing national discourse, and driving sustainable development for women nationwide.
