NCWS Strengthens Ties with Youth Constructive Forum Northeast Toward Development Partnership
In a bid to foster youth empowerment and strengthen collaborative development initiatives, the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) Nigeria, under the leadership of its National President, Princess Edna D. D. Azura, received a delegation from the Youth Constructive Forum Northeast on October 16, 2025, at the NCWS National Secretariat.

The courtesy visit was aimed at exploring areas of collaboration between both organisations, particularly in land development and youth-focused community projects within the North East region.
Speaking during the visit, representatives of the Youth Constructive Forum expressed their desire for a partnership with the NCWS to support ongoing efforts in developing a parcel of land owned by the Forum. They sought assistance in logistics, construction support, and mobility to enhance their capacity for community development and engagement.
In her response, Princess Edna Azura warmly welcomed the delegation and commended their initiative toward constructive youth engagement and development. She described the NCWS as a “national umbrella body committed to the advancement of women, families, and communities across Nigeria.”
The NCWS President also emphasised the importance of education, particularly for young girls, and reiterated the Council’s continuous advocacy against gender-based violence, which remains a key focus of her administration.
On the partnership request, Princess Azura assured the delegation of NCWS’s readiness to collaborate, noting that establishing such partnerships aligns with the Council’s vision of inclusive national development. She, however, directed the Forum to submit a formal proposal to the NCWS National Office in Abuja to initiate the process.
The President of the Youth Constructive Forum North East, Mr Samaila Bello, expressed gratitude to the NCWS leadership for the warm reception and pledged his team’s commitment to follow up on the proposal as advised.
As a gesture of appreciation, the delegation presented an Award of Excellence to the NCWS National President, recognising her outstanding leadership and dedication to promoting unity, empowerment, and collaboration across Nigeria.
The meeting ended on a cordial note, with both parties expressing optimism for a fruitful and lasting partnership aimed at driving social and economic progress in the North East region.
